Noise Blanker

My HP dv9000 laptop will not turn on. What do you think the problem is?

I have the battery in as well as the ac adapter (charger). The blue touch light buttons above the keyboard, as well as the power button turn on, however the screen is blank. The laptop doesnt make any noise, the fan starts up briefly then dies out. I hope someone can give me some insight as to what may be the problem, because getting it looked at is pricey on its own.

this could be several things….. you may have a faulty power supply in the notebook or (as with me) you may have a faulty ac adapter. The momentary life of your laptop (fan spinning) indicates not a OS problem, but a hardware problem.
