Oh, another question…
There are two wire harnesses going into the multifunction switch and a group of wires coming out. Where do they connect?
You need to pull the steering wheel to get it out. So if you feel like messing with the airbag:
Rotate the steering wheel 90* to the left (from center), use a flat-head screwdriver to release the clip from the back side of the steering wheel. Then rotate 90* to the right and do the same. Open airbag assembly.
Remove the horn contact assembly, remembering how it is installed.
Most likely need a steering wheel puller to get the steering wheel off. Remove the steering wheel.
Remove the column tilt lever; just pull outward on it and it will slide off.
Then you have access to all screws to remove the plastic column cover, some are on the underside, some where the steering wheel was.
Then you need to unplug the wiring harness for the multi-switch, follow the harness down the steering column underneath the dash till you find the plug. If I remember correctly it is flat and has approx 10 wires on it in a single row. Unplug and fish up column. THen remove the switch assembly.
Replacement is just backward. For all the effort and cussing, take it to the dealer. That is what I did, and I RARELY take my vehicles to the shop. It is a real pain in the…

After looking at the link you posted, proved me wrong about the steering wheel. I made the assumption that it did need to be removed, because you need to on the fullsize vehicles (notice I mentioned fullsize)… I apologize; it looks to be easier than I thought.
