Coil test is very easy compared to control three leads components such as SCR, FET, etc. Generally, it consists of a coil of many turns or wire wrapped around a common core. The core may be iron or even the air. When an electric current passes through the coil, a magnetic field. A coil in some respect s acts, directly opposite a capacitor. A capacitor blocks DC while allowing AC to flow through it, a DC coil allows it to flow through it, while restricting the flow of AC current. Another name for an inductor is an inductor.

A coil is small in size, in general, I only tested with analog meter and we can see that on board too. Set your analog meter ohm X1 and location of the probes through the small coil. The meter should show a little reading (or continuity), and this demonstrated that the coil is fine. Small coils spoiled, because they rarely have less clearance compared with large coils where it could having many turns of liquidation and the possibilities of going short is very high.

For a flyback tester to test the coil, which has helped me find different coils shorted switch mode power transformer primary winding, B + primary coil flyback and horizontal coil winding deviation. The flyback meter can even be used to check the status of ballast in the fluorescent lamp too!
