Radio Frequency Matching?
I have built the most basic transmitter possible for some DIY projects. I’m not sure what frequency it is though, the site describes how to change the frequency(capacitor value) but not exactly what it is(link attached). Do i need to know the frequency or can I just be able to receive it by knowing the capacitance and matching it on the receiver.
If I need the frequency I was wondering if someone has the appropriate computer programs to do so. Just so that I can match it on the other end. I know that this is a very amateur circuit, but I am only using it for very basic Morse code type signals.
And also, the circuit says that all it needs is a non-polarized capacitor, could I use a regular polarized electrolytic capacitor? And for tuning, where is the best place to find a cheap tuning/ variable capacitor?

Broadcasting on an unknown frequency is totally illegal and you could bring the FCC down on you.
I can’t tell how the circuit is tuned, certainly not via the 10µF cap. I suspect it is the inductance of the coil and the junction capacitance of the transistor. That transistor does have quite high junction cap values, it is not a RF transistor.
I suggest you find a better schematic, one that oscillates on a known frequency and has a tuning capacitor.
You are allowed to transmit at low power in the AM band, around 1 MHz.

Troubleshooting monitor flyback transformers is not difficult if you know what is inside the flyback. Typically, for a flyback monitor, which comprises the housing, liquidation, pins, high voltage cable, anode cap, splitter, epoxy and a high voltage capacitor. Among all, the internal capacitor gave most problems. If this value capacitor or shorted out, the monitor will not have high voltage and high voltage closed and sometimes blow the power section. Is why, whenever you want to check before feeding problems or horizontal transistor (HOT), which had developed a short circuit, which should always confirm first that the flyback internal capacitor of the transformer is working. Otherwise, after the replacement of components, the monitor would not work or sometimes the same components that had suddenly changed again.
Although all monitor flyback transformers designed different measurement method of is the same whether it is a Samsung, Philips, etc. and Likom Connect digital capacitance probe from the top of the anode to the bottom pin as shown in the photo. A capacitor value should be 1.5 to 4.5 nanofarad good nanofarad. Acer 14 and 15 "monitor usually measured 1.5-1.6 nanofarad while 17" and above flyback usually in the range of 2.7 4.5 nanofarad nanofarad. Some 21 "monitor has flyback reading of 6 nanofarad.
A good approach to dynamic capacitor usually has the capacitance value of 0.5 to 1 nanofarad. If these values of the capacitors of execution, he may have some problems adjusting the focus. In other words, you can not tune a sharp image no matter how hard you have tried it. You can test these dynamic approach to the capacitors by connecting a digital cable capacity horizontal focus or vertically to one of the two pins on the flyback divider.
Many tried to control the repair shops to fix a flyback without success. Some called as flyback renew. The reason for their failure to repair the flyback is due to the drainage resistance inside the flyback. Some experts called as feedback resistance. If you just remove the flyback internal capacitor pin and if the flyback has a bleeder resistor in it, the monitor will come under high-voltage shutdown. Be careful when you want to renew flyback.
Get monitor flyback transformer schematic diagram so you familiar with the components inside the flyback. See how the condenser and the trap of internal resistance are connected. As a primary and secondary are drawn and know the design of different manufacturers flyback thus. This article will not show how to remove flyback because I hope that you knew how to get him.
Conclusion: Only practice more often on how to test a flyback, and use a Dick Smith lOPT tester to check the clearance. There would be time for you to be very good in the control of flyback. By the way, try the internal capacitor with digital capabilities is not 100% reliable because the internal capacitors have a rated voltage of about 30 at 35 kV and the output voltage produced by the meter only in pairs of volts. The flyback transformer tester best in the land is actually the monitor or TV itself. In turn, if the monitor working then the flyback is in good condition and if you hear "tic" – "tic" sound or arcs, most probably you need to check or renew the flyback. Have a great day my friend!
