Conservatives, do you know what socialism is or do you act scared ’cause a radio personality told you to?

If you actually know what socialism is, please feel free to define it in your answer!

Socialism, as I would define it, is a form of governance where ownership of all business and/or economic control is the sole responsibility of government and reward or success is rationed toward citizenry in an as needed basis as defined by said government. In other words, Complete control of all means of daily economics and economic development as a function of government instead of individual freedom.
The basis of most belief in the idea of socialism by liberals is basically in the premise that a majority of citizens are incapable of taking care of themselves or making decisions about their own life and certain freedoms should be relinquished to the government in exchange for security and those that can, and are successful at providing for themselves and their family, should be held to public ridicule and punished.

With recent technological advances in portable media, it is not surprising that the portable radios have also seen many changes in recent years.

Although you can still find the old analog radios tuning if you look for them, most new portable radios and digital displays digital tuning capability. However, not all the radios to handle this new technology in the same way.

For example, some radios have a digital clock. Some will have a backlight that is always on, and some will have a backlight that remains only in a few seconds after interacting with the radio. Many radios depending on the characteristics of self-closing, which you can program the radio to off after a certain amount of time.

Unlike analog radios, digital radios allow you to set presets. While the number varies presets on the radio, most presets allow between 10-25 across both AM and FM bands.

Size

Sound quality depends largely on your headphones. Most portable radios come with a set of headphones, but usually are of low quality and should be replaced with a good pair of headphones. Most radios use batteries alkaline, but the type and amount depends on the size of the radio. Overall, the electronics portable radios are simple, and tend to duration exceptional battery life. Some even come with AC adapters and rechargeable batteries, as you would expect to see on a cell phone.

Convergence

As more and more mobile devices to market, we're starting to see the FM receivers built into other devices such as players MP3 and mobile phones. Nobody wants to carry around more electronics than they need, so if the FM radio is your thing, may be worth checking out a converged device.
