I am starting to stretch…?
I have started to stretch again to become more “elastic”, and have begun with sitting on the ground with my right leg extended and bend my left knee so my left foot is flat at my right thigh. I am fine on that side, but when I switch to my left side, I can feel my back pulling and can barely stretch my left leg because of this.
Does anyone know why this might be? and can you give me any suggestions on how to stretch that part of my back? (it’s the right side of my back).
Try stretching post-workout. Your body will be heated up and thus more able to stretch
Go as far as you can and then 1/4″ more for the stretch.

Leafing through a magazine of martial arts, one day, I met the whole garment meanest I've ever seen: a uniform way to set the flag United States. Stars, stripes, was all there. I think the worst part of the image, and what is remaining in my mind, is the fact that the gentleman was dressed in the uniform performing a high side kick. His position, unfortunately, allowed me to see that while uniform pants were mostly red and white, a blue field with white stars were used to create the crotch. I still have nightmares.
Fortunately for all involved in martial arts, this monstrosity is the exception not the rule. Martial arts uniforms sets are usually rather austere and simple allowing the user maximum movement and comfort. There are, of course, a variety of martial arts out there, and the name of the uniform varies not only by language, but my style martial. In karate, which is known as a "karategi;" in aikido, as a "aikidogi;" in tae kwon as dobok A "," and so on.
Many of these uniforms are very similar in appearance, that is to lose, usually cotton pants with elastic waist or drawstring. The pants extend to the ankles and hang there, not elastic. Article clothing is higher in the bottom of the hips and envelops the body like a garment sleeves usually come to the wrists. The garment is wrapped with insured ties on both sides and with a belt, also of cotton, the color of what the rank of the wearer.
While most martial arts uniforms of this description are white, black, is also relatively common. In some schools, once a student reaches the level of black belt 1st dan, he or she is allowed to wear a black uniform or one with black trim. In the U.S., it is common that the name and logo of a particular school of martial arts to be printed on the back of his uniform. This is especially true of those schools competing in tournaments.
A notable exception to the standard described above is the clothes frequently used by practitioners of tai chi chuan and kung fu. These teams can be cotton, silk, but also often used. They can be nearly any color imaginable. The pants are no different than those described above. The top, however, is characterized by frog buttons that often extend from neck to hem. In addition, the top usually has a traditional Chinese style collar, similar to what one sees in a cheongsam.
Perhaps the most dramatic of martial arts is the uniform used in kendo. Kendo is the Japanese martial art of sword fighting. Their clothing includes long pants, full almost seems like a skirt, a top similar to that worn in karate and BagĂș specifically designed protective armor. A set of Bagua is a mask, shoulder pads, a protective torso, gloves, leg protectors, groin protector of the protectors and shin times. A kendo fighter ball gown is a show very intimidating.
