Can I fit 18X8 in rims on my 2000 Mercury cougar V6?

Here are the specs of the rims I am looking at and I want to know if they will fit on my car?
Description:
Finish: Painted/Machined
Size: 18 x 8 in.
Center Bore: 72.69 mm
Bolt Circle: 4-4.5 in.
Off Set: +40 mm

That guys answer is not necessarily true, i have a 2000 cougar, and i put 18’s on mine. No weight, just get low pro tires, they bolt is 4×108 on mine, i dunno if those will fit, sometimes at rim shops they look up a certain rim and say they fit your cougar, but ends up not fitting, i went to a store to put my rims on my car and i could only choose from 3 kinds of rims, its cause cougar are tuner cars, that sucks huh?
