Fiber optic connector

modern connectors typically use a "physical" polishing the fiber end and ferrule. This is an area slightly curved, so that when mated the fibers touch the fiber cores, plugs nearby. Some manufacturers have varying degrees of quality of nails for example, a regular FC connector can be designated "FC / PC" (for physical contact), while "FC / SPC" and "FC / UPC" may denote "super" and "ultra" Polish qualities, respectively. Mnemonics
LC connectors are sometimes called "Little connectors.
