What wireless router would best support an 8 meg connection?
To be more specific, were getting an 8 meg internet connection in our new home, and we have 5 computers in our family. I own 3, while my younger sister owns one, while my mother owns another.
My sister connects to the router wirelessly, so does my mother. My other 3 computers are wired to the router. Were getting an 8 meg connection, what type of router should I get so that I can have my 3 computers connected with their’s wirelessly connected to not disconnect or slow the internet, but to also support the faster speed were upgrading too?
Thanks.
Also, I’m a gamer. So having a steady connection is a must for low ping in online games such as CSS and WoW. I want a low ping and i’ve been looking at this router : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127243
The standards for wireless are the same. The bottle neck is the 8 Meg Internet connection. Your wireless “G” routers will give you a rate of 54 Mbps, when the signal is good, it will be slower when the signal is not good. The wired connections will be 100 Mbps to the router. As both of these are above the 8 Mbps, then they will not slow you down.
Anyone that guarantee’s a particular product will always give you the lowest ping is dreaming.
If all 5 computers are working at the same time, and they are all sending the largest frames possible, then your ping will not be great. If they are sending small frames then your ping will be much better. If you are the only one using the connection it will be the best.
Good luck.

The internet is not all about eBay, but it will be very difficult to prove to some people. The auction site is the main and sometimes only destination for shoppers online these days, and you tell me this is not surprising if I say that the site is adding to its online customer base every day.
EBay was founded by Pierre Omidyar, a native of Paris in the room of his life in San Jose in September 1995. It was from the beginning intended to be a market for the sale of goods and services to individuals, to some extent, remains today.
In 1998, Pierre Omidyar and co-founder Jeff Skoll brought a woman named Meg Whitman continuous brain expansion of the auction site. Meg Whitman, who studied at Harvard Business School had worked for the Stride Rite Corporation, a footwear company, in various capabilities.
Meg Whiteman was also employed by The Walt Disney Company, an entertainment company, most recently as senior vice president of Marketing Disney Consumer Products, was also at Bain & Co, a consulting firm and other firms with a reputation, but I will not go into too much detail.
Credit Meg Whitman should be given to strike again three tough competitors, Amazon.com, Yahoo and Lycos, which attempted to overthrow the site from its perch. Since its flea market – like roots, the site now host auctions of expensive items like cars and real estate. The site has not only weathered the storm – is steaming at full speed.
The online auction site has built a strong online presence has been through some though times since its creation, but it seems that eBay is even more strong. For those of you who have not heard of eBay, is an online auction website, and not just any auction site, but the largest in the world. If you know how an offline auction, then you already have an idea about how eBay operates.
Most people are resorting to eBay for your online shopping needs. The auction site has made it easy for shoppers with its users a search service friendly. Just type the name any product after and eBay searches through the various categories and comes with several links related to the product in that category. Click Click on the link, and you're on your way to your first purchase on eBay. This is so easy. And for this reason, most buyers still refer to eBay, not only for business, but because the auction site has an easy to use interface and is easy to navigate, even for novice Internet user.
EBay has built an online person – person online trading community using the World Wide Web. Buyers and sellers meet in a way that sellers are allowed to list of items for sale, buyers to bid on items of interest and all members to browse through published articles in a completely automated. These articles are organized by topics, where each type of auction has its own category.
The site has spawned an entire software industry and online websites serving buyers and sellers of auction. You can find help to list, buy, pay or sell. These days, the sale on the site has been become a full time job for many people. Some sellers consistently over $ 150,000.00 in monthly sales and more than 260,000 people who sell on the auction site, and the figure is growing daily.
