How do you listen to the radio on a AN/PRC-148?

I want to listen to public radio stations on my 148 but all I can get is bits and pieces. Anyone know how??
The radio has the strength needed to listen to local radio stations and it does work with them. Local FM does broadcast in digital. I know it can be done, I have seen it done but cannot remember how to do it. So if you dont think it can be done you dont know very much about radios, please dont respond and if you dont know how to do or where to find instructions no need to answer. Thank you for any HELPFUL information.
