what is the TC-SST which is implemented on 07-08 Lancer Evos?

I did a little reading about it, but i just wasnt to clarify this. is this a automatic transmission ? or a Manual? cause the word Clutch usually indicates Manual transmission.

In a way it is both. This transmission is similar to Audi’s DSG transmission. It is technically a manual because it has two clutches (and not a torque converter like an automatic) but the clutches are not activated by a clutch pedal as with a manual, nor do you actually have to shift gears with your hand (though you can). I drove a VW Jetta with this type of transmission and it’s pretty simple, you put it in “D” and the car shifts just like an automatic except lightning fast and nearly imperceptible. The reason for this is that it has two clutches, one which is holding the gear you are in and the other which has the next gear preselected so the changeover takes only fractions of a second. If you feel racy you can do the shifting yourself via steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. After driving the VW I am SOLD on this type of transmission and hear that the Evo’s is even better. And in terms of flat out acceleration these dual-clutch automatics (as they are sometimes called) outperform a traditional stick shift manual as well as getting as good or better fuel economy. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has much in store for European car fans at the upcoming 62nd International Motor Show (Internationale Automobil Ausstellung, IAA), to be held in Frankfurt, Germany on September 11.

The Japanese automaker, along with its European arm (Mitsubishi Motors Europe BV), submit a vehicle all-new production and a concept model at the show. Mitsubishi will also present other models as well as some of its most recent developments in alternative fuels such as Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle (i MiEV).

Mitsubishi will IAA Frankfurt as a stage for the opening European Union bound Lancer sedan model. The Mitsubishi Lancer comes with an exterior design with Mitsubishi Motors' hallmark inverted sloping nose with a trapezoidal grille. The car is equipped with a new 1.8-liter DOHC MIVEC engine with aluminum cylinder block capable of producing 105 kW (143 PS), along with INVECS-III 6-speed Sport Mode CVT or a 5-speed manual transmission. European customers can also choose the 2-liter turbocharged diesel mated to a 6-speed transmission manual and a 1.5-liter DOHC MIVEC engine combined with a 4-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Other features of the European Lancer include SRS airbags (airbags for driver and front passenger, driver's knee airbag, side and curtain airbags), adaptive front lighting (AFS), rain wiper automatic sensitive, Rockford Fosgate sound system of bonuses, and the interior COCOCHI.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Concept-cX is expected to attract public attention Europe at the IAA in Frankfurt. This concept is a compact car with characteristics of a sporty crossover SUV or hatchback. The Japanese automaker described Concept-cX and crossed an "awakening a sense of adventure to" cut a swath "through the hustle and bustle of city life.

Al Like the Mitsubishi Lancer, Mitsubishi's Concept-cX also has his nose bent inverted trapezoidal grille. A split tailgate is included to provide provided customers with a loading and unloading purposes. Big tires 225/45 R 19 covers the vehicle's wheels and ready for the challenge and off road.

The Concept-cX is equipped with a high output and high efficiency new 1.8 liter clean diesel engine with variable geometry (VG) turbocharger for improved performance. Mitsubishi This powerful engine is combined with Mitsubishi's new Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission) Power Electronic Control 4WD system. In addition, the Concept-cX also equipped with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) in the exhaust system of the lower exhaust emissions. The engine meets the stringent Euro 5 emissions standards. Other automakers like Isuzu (maker of cars and trucks with quality title = "Isuzu catalytic converter "> Isuzu catalytic converter), not yet announced its participation in the IAA in Frankfurt.
