Using a step up transformer to step down?

I’m using a step up transformer to operate some of my European applicances (220V) in the US (120V). Means I plug the transformer into a 120V outlet, and out comes 220V.
If I now change the plugs, and put 220V into the transformer, where now the 220V come out, will it work the other way round so that I get 120V out?
In a nutshell: Is an AC/AC transformer symmetric?

Dissagreeing with a previous answer, yes, AC transformers are symmetric provided that there is a single coil on each voltage side (and no other semiconductors or the like in between).

AC transformers would then step up or down voltage. Suggest you connect a voltimeter before you connect your device, just to make sure you’re getting the voltage you want.

These decorative elements include inscriptions from the Koran, elegant geometric designs and representations of flowers and plants. The sausage was carried out with great skill, creating a smooth surface without defects and without visible seams. The pristine white marble Taj Mahal in contrast with the colors of the inlaid stones to create a striking effect and real. Agra is just 220 kilometers from the Indian capital New Delhi and is visited by thousands of visitors every year. This place is very rich in history, and not is the Taj, many other structures that are Troyes treasure of Mughal architecture.

The Agra Fort is built on the banks of Yamuna river and stretches almost 2.5 km. The magnificent towers, bastions, ramparts and gateways symbolize the Agra Fort stature and power of the Mughal emperor Akbar. The fort is surrounded by a wall of twenty feet high and within the area of strength is the beautiful Pearl Mosque and the Taj palaces Jahangiri, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am and Moti Masjid. The fort has four gates and is surrounded by a double barricaded wall of red sandstone. Many buildings were built within the fortress of which there are very few so far. One of the most significant is the multistory Jahangiri Mahal built by Akbar for his wife Jodha Bai. The Taj is achieved through an impressive gateway and its inner courtyard consists of beautiful halls and intricate carvings on the stone. It is said that a century later most of the structures were dismantled by Shahjahan and were replaced with white marble pavilions covered with intricate inlay work of which the most prominent are the Diwan-i-khas, the Mausam Burj and Burj Shaha.

Anytime is a good time to visit this splendid city, but the time of year when nature dawns all its splendor of color in the city is around February. For 10 days no celebration pure during the Taj Mahotsav. There are festivities throughout and Agra truly puts the colors of joy and becomes an endless carnival. Organized by the State Tourism Department, this festival is indeed a fitting tribute to the legendary skills of master craftsman and seems truly inspired by Mughal splendor. Bedecked elephants and camels, drum beaters, mastercraftsmen popular artists, all help recreate a visual delight reminiscent of the golden age of Mughal Darbars. This city is definitely worth a visit in his life, and there are plenty of excellent hotels and motels that offer first class service.
