Are you aware of what YAHOO! is doing about trolls and abusers?
“We have released phase 2 of our “troll defense” recently and you should start to see some positive changes. While we are confident in our troll and spammer-catching technologies we might miss a few, and would like to encourage you guys to continue reporting any abuse you see.
We have begun to crack down on “background” point-gamers–those who create multiple accounts to choose their own best answers, target others with thumbs-down votes, or target others by repeatedly reporting them for abuse.
We cannot go in to too much detail about our new nun-chuck powers, but you should see a marked decrease in spammers on the site. We would appreciate feedback on how you think our new system is going, and what changes, if any, you are noticing.
Thank you for working with us as we implement this phase and continue to work on phase 3. We know many of you are eager to help us catch these types of users.
RAMO is what is required, but may I add, I now copy the offencive posting in the details box before I send, I figure if YA sees the post perhaps they’ll clue in.
As for this phase 2 thing, I have heard nothing of it.

Search Engine Optimization Part II
SEO: What NOT to do and what to do
The only thing I recommend is NOT just "throwing money in it, "and walk away. SEO is an ongoing, fundamental activity that must be managed for the long term. It is important that someone at a high level of household income enough knowledge about what is important to be able to monitor from a management perspective. Otherwise, you risk actually losing their way, no matter how you decide to handle the application. In particular, there is a tendency to simply "outsource" the management of activities that do not feel comfortable. The problem is that there are a number of "quick fix" SEO artists, who say they bring a lot of fast traffic. They use questionable practices may have problems with search engines, and in the long term has the opposite effect of what you're looking for. If you do not have a manager who understands the implications of what is being done, can burn.
RECOMMENDATIONS
So let's say that you have decided to "do it" yourself, or at least want to get a basic understanding of SEO process. Where to start?
This is what I recommend:
* Buy and read a popular Search Engine Optimization or Search Engine Marketing book to become a knowledgeable * The purchase of search engine optimization software packages that are available for a few hundred dollars, I use Web Position from Webtrends
Once you have familiarized yourself, here are the basic steps important that you want to make sure you understand:
1. Select keywords to optimize the site for, which are important for potential customers and your business. Look to your own website and other marketing materials, look at competition sites, and use tools like Wordtracker and Overture and Google Adwords Tools keywords. This is a critical part of the process, you need to select keywords that are relevant and non-competitive, so you are still able to "own" in other words, appear in the top 6 ads for.
2. Make sure your page titles and URLs of the pages are full of words selected key. This is very important, and therefore new sites must be optimized for the search, when it was built initially (usually not "pass, unfortunately).
3. Include keyword-rich "link text" in its content, and be sure to label all images with keyword-rich text.
4. Make your main body text keyword rich text, and probably more intense than the graphic designers who want. While designers (And CEOs) may think its ugly, search engines love and only understand text. Some engines even completely ignore the less than 300 pages words. If your pages are also "clean and beautiful, is a good chance they will be ignored by the robots of search engines when perform indexing. So you need to make some compromises between SEO and appearance.
5. Start a never "interminable" campaign for web sites External to create links on its site. This is also critical, because search engines use this is a measure of the "important" your site is in conjunction with its competitors. The most relevant and popular link site is the best, but these links is better than no link. PR is a great way to build links relevant, but an employee may also have opportunities to troll simple list of your business website in the directories available on the Internet crowd.
SEO is actually a very complex field with many important but mundane technical details. Much can be done beyond this process to optimize your site. But these are the basics, if you run through this process, you as a senior manager, will be much better prepared to buy external SEO services or hire people for their internal staff. As a C-level manager, you would not feel comfortable being ignorant of how the PR process, right?
In the Internet age, can not afford to be ignorant about SEO!
As always, your comments are welcome.
