What is the purpose of a UHF repeater at airports?
What is the purpose of a UHF repeater at airports.
I live in york and my local airport is Leeds bradford (LBIA) Because im 25 miles from the airport getting atc from the airport is very slim but i can get leeds tower on 455.6125nfm Perfect but on 123.0am i get nothing why is this ?what is the benefit for the airport to use this repeater thanks
Like most repeaters, the idea is to make the signal receivable beyond the range of the originating station. Theoretically, with enough repeaters, you could send a signal around the world using low power repeaters rather that high power systems or satellites.
Is there terrain features or line of sight issues in your case?
