What is the cheapest way to buy a really good dual suspension mountain bike?

I feel like bike dealers are like used car lots and really trying to rip me off. If I buy online I won’t be able to test ride it before I buy. Is there a better way to buy a new mountain bike that I don’t know of?

If you feel that way about the shop you visited, you’re at the wrong shop.

I can go into GREAT detail about what makes what bike better and why this brand has constant issues but, this is not the place.

Internet/Ebay = NO WARRANTY… MANY Companies have issued vivid disclaimers about internet sales and their restrictions there-of. Felt, Trek, Specialized, etc. have instituted this to uphold their brand’s integrity. If you let your products get sold on the internet/Ebay, it devalues the product and brandname!

Switching to Linux: Why dual boot is the best

With the product easy to use Ubuntu Linux gaining popularity at an astounding rate, may be considering making the move from Windows to Linux. If so, then you have wondered how it will work and play, games and applications they use every day in Windows.

Windows applications can run on Linux, but not natively. You have two main options: emulation and virtualization. Neither are as effective as dual boot, but I will explain here and disadvantages.

Emulation lets you run Windows applications through a translation layer "Deceiving to think of applications that run on Windows. Although great strides have been made by the WINE project and commercial arm, Cedega, many applications still unsupported. Support for certain applications, may also vary depending on your hardware configuration.

Virtualization takes the running applications Windows in Linux one step further and is capable of running a full Windows (or other) operating system directly from the Linux desktop. With the free application VirtualBox, you can create a "virtual machine" and install any version of Windows you want on it.

A virtual machine is turned on and off just like a normal PC, except the entire operating system running inside a window on the Linux desktop. Then you can install any Windows application you want in the virtual machine and use them as you would normally.

Operation applications natively on Windows, through a virtual machine is much more reliable than running through a translation layer, but virtualization has its drawbacks too.

When Windows running in a virtual machine is actually running two operating systems at the same time, on a computer. This performance has obvious drawbacks. Although most of office-type applications can be run in this way, if your office insists on a particular piece of Windows-specific software, performance problems and lack Support for DirectX gaming applications severely compromises.

The only way to successfully run all Windows applications at full capacity is installed Windows and Linux as dual boot operating systems.

Dual boot is the process of installing two operating systems side by side, to run independently. Using this method will be presented with a menu list of operating systems on the computer. This allows you to choose the most appropriate operating system tasks hand, either work or play.

I personally run Ubuntu 7.04 and Windows XP as dual boot system. I mostly use Ubuntu for day to day tasks Windows XP and run exclusively for the game. Thus, dual boot grants me access to the best features of both operating systems and allows me to use my computer to their full potential.
